Telling Tales
A downloadable game
"The craft [...] as cold vacuum sucked my brother into the void."
"Fredrick spotted a lizard the size of a chariot flying... "
"...and if we are to end this war..."
"...we're expected to put our guns down?"
"The pact was forged in blood and metal."
Telling Tales is a GMless game of rummaging through the past and curating the future. Each session players frame the current world and then work together to make sense of the past. Playing out vignettes, settling narrative disputes and experiencing this age in history. At the end, players bid on history, both the notes they have made and those left behind from past ages. The winners get to choose if that record should pass down or not.
You'll find the notes from our recording and some additional materials here as well if you're curious to see a bit of the process.
Telling Tales was developed by Chase Kurkowski and Collin Ryan on Gamestorm, a podcast you can find on any of your favorite listening apps. If you would like to support Gamestorm and receive all of the games we make at no additional cost, you can also find us on Patreon!
